Energy Advisor, Canada Greener Homes Grant

Greensaver is looking for additions to our field staff to complete assessments for Commercial, Small Business, and Residential customers across Ontario. If you enjoy meeting people, being active in the community and are interested in the energy conservation industry we would like to meet you.

Job Description:
Employment Status: Full time, Part time
Reporting to: Field Service Team Lead and to Manager, Audits & Quality Assurance

Department Summary: Greensaver’s Energy Assessment Team is responsible for scheduling all audits for our energy conservation programs. We are the primary contact for all energy assessment scheduling inquiries, service issues or conflicts. We also provide exceptional customer service and manage the smooth day-to-day deployment of our internal and external advisors. Primary Responsibilities:
• Conduct basic energy assessments in residential and commercial buildings following program protocols and standards
• Complete detailed and accurate data collection and measurements and submit accurate and complete reports in a timely manner
• Interact with homeowners, building managers, and tenants, answering questions regarding energy efficiency, conservation programs and other related topics
• Install energy savings measures such as LED light bulbs and other energy savings devices (i.e., power bars, block heater timers, low flow aerators, and pipe wrap, etc.), as applicable to the Conservation Program in which participation has been confirmed
• Adhere to assigned schedules and arrive on location in a timely manner
• Provide a high level of customer care and service
• Other duties as assigned, from time to time, by the Field Service Team Lead and/or the Manager, Audits & Quality Assurance

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
• 1 to 2 Years of experience in a customer service role
• B2B experience is preferred Minimum High School Diploma (a post-secondary education will be considered an asset)
• Certified Energy Advisor certificate is an asset (but not required)
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to engage businesses in funded energy conservation opportunities with minimal supervision
• Professional demeanor Excellent verbal and written communication, highly organized, attention to detail with a positive attitude and interest in the energy and environment sectors
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Web Based Applications with an aptitude to learn internal software and relevant applications
• Multilingual ability is considered an asset Further Requirements and Qualifications Completion of a criminal background check
• Access to a personal vehicle as 35% regional travel is expected

Insulation Apprentice , Home Insulation Services


Job Type: Full-time / Permanent: 35 to 40 hours per week

Reporting To:  Operations Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Commercial projects, including but not limited to the following:
    • Air barrier systems and transition membranes
    • Interior or exterior insulation installation
  • Residential insulation, including but not limited to the following:
    • Attic insulation
    • Flat roof insulation
    • Slope insulation
    • Basement insulation
    • Wall insulation with cellulose and foam
    • Exterior wall air barrier and insulation systems
    • Air sealing, including weather-stripping on doors
  • Measure and cut insulating materials and coverings to the required shape and dimension
  • Remove insulation and debris from homes
  • Complete job preparation as required
  • Other duties as requested and assigned by the Operations Manager, Retrofit or Retrofit Supervisor

Physical Activity Description:

Physical activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Physical requirements: Manual dexterity, standing for extended periods; bending, crouching, kneeling, standing with weight
  • Climbing up and down stairs in houses and on trucks and crawling into crawl spaces
  • Pulling, pushing and torso twisting movements to transfer materials from truck
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying of insulation with weight up to 50 pounds
  • Working in cold, hot, and humid conditions
  • Working at heights

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Physically fit
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Provide Drivers Abstract to be eligible to drive company vehicles.
  • Previous direct experience not required but it is a big bonus!
  • Effective written and oral communication skills (ability to speak, read and write English)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • General tool skills including hand tools
  • Works well under pressure
  • Criminal Background Check (to be completed by Greensaver)
