Director, Business Development, Marketing and Outreach

Job Status: Permanent, Full-Time      

Reports to: President & CEO, Greensaver

Objective:  The Director of Business Development, Marketing and Outreach directs the business development activities of the organization and leads new business development, customer outreach and recruitment and drives new sales business for the company playing a key role in Greensaver’s bottom line.  He/she also oversees marketing and communications of the corporation.  Both B2B and B2C experience is preferred, as is the ability to think strategically and get results.  A positive track record with growing home services, energy efficiency business development and/or dealing with housing providers are all useful experiences.

Duties of the Director, Business Development, Marketing and Outreach include:

  • Responsible for the overall management of strategic and operational Marketing, Business Development and Sales and Outreach activities, both for the programmatic and the consumer business side
  • Develops and organizes new business development initiatives: initiates engagement with targeted accounts and leads the opportunity development process; develop opportunities from the first lead, until close; personally develops and converts opportunities with senior client and customer executives and leads RFP response processes
  • Manages sales, marketing & outreach for Greensaver services and/or products with a focus on both new business development and sales and outreach for existing clients/business
    • Overall management of sales, marketing and business development activities
    • Marketing and outreach activities designed to attract participants, support program delivery goals and implement corporate strategy
    • Sales management for individual programs to generate planned volume of leads and/or clients
    • Supporting sales and marketing activities of GHES (homeowner retrofits)
    • Oversight of management group which includes: Outreach and Sales Manager, Marketing Manager and Manager, Business Development
  • Works closely with the President & CEO to ensure strategic focus and alignment with organizational growth plans and targets.
  • Provides market feedback to Greensaver’s President & CEO regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generates business development ideas; planning and coordinating the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets
  • Works closely with peers and senior management to align sales, business development and marketing strategies and solutions: required to align appropriate sales opportunities to meet business and financial objectives and will be expected to know Greensaver customers’ business needs
  • In cooperation with human resources, manages recruitment, performance, training, coaching and development of the business development, outreach and marketing team(s)
  • Creates development plans and growth opportunities for direct reports
  • Directly works with key (current and potential) clients and identifies opportunities to partner with them to grow our business
  • Drives increased revenue and bottom line, in order to achieve Greensaver’s ambitious goals
  • Oversees and manages department budget, focusing on exceeding goals, quality standards and cost efficiencies
  • Enforces company policies consistently and in an equitable manner
  • Performance evaluated through KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and/or Personal Scorecard
  • Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned by the President & CEO

Requirements of the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/ MBA in business/ marketing or industry related fields
  • Over 7 years’ experience in a similar role, with demonstrated track record of success
  • Experience with the energy industry, especially energy conservation, utility programs, home services and responding to RFPs is considered a distinct advantage
  • Excellent negotiation and communications skills, with different stakeholders, and a proven track record of successfully acquiring new business, preferably in both B2B and B2C
  • Strategic oversight with a hands-on management approach in daily activities
  • Ability to use MS Office; working knowledge of data analysis, performance/operation metrics, IT/Business infrastructure would all be considered an advantage
  • Outstanding strategic, organizational, team building and leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, delegation, management and problem-solving skills

Energy Advisor, Canada Greener Homes Grant

Job Description:
Employment Status: Full time, Part time
Reporting to: Field Service Team Lead and to Manager, Audits & Quality Assurance

Department Summary: Greensaver’s Energy Assessment Team is responsible for scheduling all audits for our energy conservation programs. We are the primary contact for all energy assessment scheduling inquiries, service issues or conflicts. We also provide exceptional customer service and manage the smooth day-to-day deployment of our internal and external advisors. Working with the Energy Assessments team is a concrete way to be part of something bigger than yourself. Primary Responsibilities:
• Conduct basic energy assessments in residential and commercial buildings following program protocols and standards
• Complete detailed and accurate data collection and measurements and submit accurate and complete reports in a timely manner
• Interact with homeowners, building managers, and tenants, answering questions regarding energy efficiency, conservation programs and other related topics
• Install energy savings measures such as LED light bulbs and other energy savings devices (i.e., power bars, block heater timers, low flow aerators, and pipe wrap, etc.), as applicable to the Conservation Program in which participation has been confirmed
• Adhere to assigned schedules and arrive on location in a timely manner
• Provide a high level of customer care and service
• Other duties as assigned, from time to time, by the Field Service Team Lead and/or the Manager, Audits & Quality Assurance

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
• 1 to 2 Years of experience in a customer service role
• B2B experience is preferred Minimum High School Diploma (a post-secondary education will be considered an asset)
• Certified Energy Advisor certificate is an asset (but not required)
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to engage businesses in funded energy conservation opportunities with minimal supervision
• Professional demeanor Excellent verbal and written communication, highly organized, attention to detail with a positive attitude and interest in the energy and environment sectors
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Web Based Applications with an aptitude to learn internal software and relevant applications

Enrolment Representative

Job Description

Reporting To:  Lead Generation and Outreach Manager

Objective and Position Summary

 You will be the liaison between Greensaver and its growing program participants, customers and stakeholder base, deploying the very best in outreach, lead generation and relationship building. You will have the opportunity to make an impact. This role is sales-heavy; you should be just as comfortable calling on potential participants as you are with strategizing the best community engagements. This is a cross-functional role that often requires liaising between internal teams, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, and reaching out and engaging potential participants. You are primarily responsible for generating leads and driving participant and customer enrollment, as well as deepening community awareness of our programs within our growing stakeholder base. Creativity, drive, and an appetite for success are a must; you should have big ideas about what an ideal engagement and prospecting plan looks like, with the strategies to make it happen. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential participants to generate applications / customers for Greensaver’s energy efficiency solutions for home and small business.
  • Daily outbound enrollment activities to participants and customers for new and renewal business.
  • Achieve monthly / quarterly / annual enrollment targets. 
  • Log daily activity and opportunities into CRM database following enrollment processes to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Prompt follow-ups on any inbound inquiries from internal staff or external stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly forecast related to independently generated pipeline.
  • Liaise with other departments for input re: regular reporting and application processing as required
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned by your manager.

Required Education, Skills and Knowledge

  • University Degree and/or College Diploma, or equivalent work (Lead Generation) experience
  • 2 to 5 years of proven work experience in sales / lead generation
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets), including formulas, pivot tables and reporting, and formatting to present analysis
  • Strong communication, negotiation, time management and organizational skills
  • Strong familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software practices along with the ability to build productive business professional relationships
  • Highly motivated and target-driven

Insulation Apprentice , Home Insulation Services


Job Type: Full-time / Permanent: 35 to 40 hours per week

Reporting To:  Operations Supervisor

Physical Activity Description:

Physical activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Physical requirements: Manual dexterity, standing for extended periods; bending, crouching, kneeling, standing with weight
