Spray Foam
Spray foam insulation is an insulation that expands and hardens to fill gaps. We use it to insulate hard-to-reach or oddly-shaped areas. After it sets, it can be trimmed and painted. Foam insulation is generally made using types of plastic, such as polystyrene or polyurethane.
Greensaver offers 2 lb closed cell and ½ lb open-cell spray foams for commercial purposes. Both options are high-quality insulations that inhibit mould growth and expand to seal all cracks, resulting in a comfortable living environment.
2 lb closed cell spray foam is an all-in-one insulation that provides excellent air and vapour barriers. This vapour barrier means it does not require an additional plastic vapour barrier for renovation projects. This type of spray foam is also an ideal way to insulate ductwork in unconditioned spaces such as attics.
In contrast, ½ lb. open-cell spray foam does not act as a vapour barrier. However, it is a great air barrier and effective at reducing sound transmission.
Our experienced installers are thoroughly trained and certified by the Canadian Urethane Foam Contractors Association (CUFCA) and adhere to all proper spray foam processes and protocols.
Cellulose
Cellulose insulation is composed of recycled paper products that have been treated with additives to make them fire and rodent-resistant. Therefore, cellulose insulation is the most environmentally friendly type of insulation available.
Dense-packed cellulose is an effective method for insulating existing walls and roof cavities. Greensaver uses the state-of-the-art tubing method to fill cavities, resulting in no cold spots and significantly reduced air leakage. In addition, we drill all the holes required and fill them afterwards, which sets us apart from other insulation companies.
