This program helps Ontarians who do not qualify for low-income conservation programs reduce their electricity consumption and ease the burden of electricity bills by providing free energy-efficient upgrades. The AffordAbility Fund is funded by the Government of Ontario and offered to you by your local electric utility.
Please Note: The AffordAbility Fund will stop accepting new applications after July 31, 2020.
Upgrades may include
- ENERGY STAR®certified LEDs light bulbs
- ENERGY STAR® certified appliances
- Insulation and weatherstripping
How the Program Works
Step 1: Fill out the simple form at AffordAbilityFund.org or call 1-855-494-3863 to start your application. Keep a copy of your electricity bill close by to refer to when signing up.
Step 2: Speak to an Affordability Fund representative to verify your eligibility and determine your level of program participation. The representative will ask you for basic information, including your household ‘s total after tax income, and average electricity bill.
Step 3: Receive your FREE energy-saving kit or set up a FREE in-home energy assessment with a Home Energy Expert where you may qualify for free energy upgrades.
